Charming stage in the Alpine pastures, which will take you from the Val de Nendaz at the Val des Dix. It starts in Siviez, which you will reach by taxi, with a brief climb to the Novelly chairlift. You will start your walk quietly on the flat, along a panoramic route on an old bisse, cross the mountain pastures, reach one of the viewpoints in the valley at Mont-Rouge, to descend into the flatlands of Essertses, formed small lakes and peat bogs, an area of humid biotopes unique to many species. A tasting aperitif awaits you at the refreshment bar, before starting the last descent to your hotel, at the foot of the Dixence.
Approx. 4h30 walk : +420m / -1100m
Included
Depending on your desires and your form, your host can save you the first meters of vertical drop by taking you to the neighboring hamlet. You will then climb up to the magnificent Mandelon mountain pastures, where you can stop for a coffee, and take a panoramic path at the edge of the forest, to reach the Val d’Hérens. The descent into the valley can be shortened by taking the chairlift. The last relatively flat part will take you to this magnificent village and so typical of this valley, Evolène. You will taste wines and local products while waiting for your taxi which will take you to your hotel, just above the village, at La Sage.
Approx. 4h30 walk : +610m / -1000m (or -300m if chairlift)
Included
For this last stage of your crossing, you will start a long climb, which can be shortened by your taxi, through the pastures of the Val d’Hérens, to the Col du Torrent. The latter separates the Val d’Hérens from the Val d’Anniviers, and you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Moiry dam. The descent path will take you to the edge of the superb Lac des Autannes, with a magnificent view over the 4000m of the Valley. You will end your day along the Moiry dam. Last tasting before the taxi takes you back to Nendaz.
Approx. 5h walk : +900m / -700m (possibility to finish the trek in Arolla rather than Moiry, with a last day more quiet)
